Of the three street portraits in this mini-series, this is my favorite. The fact that both of them, and even the dog, are not looking at the camera makes it seem less of a portrait and more of a traditional street photograph. But sometimes it’s a subtle line.
The guy almost looks like he is posing for a portrait, purposely looking away from the camera.
I love the three elements in the frame, the guy, the woman, and the dog in between, framed vertically. They seem to perfectly balance each other, all with wonderful expressions and framed roughly by the entrance.
