My family and I were in San Antonio again yesterday, meeting relatives and friends for dinner. The Pearl District has become our go to place. Not just for food, but for a unique detail packed urban redevelopment. And while it’s interesting for most, it utterly delights someone like me who loves urban architecture photography.
The centerpiece is the Hotel Emma, transformed from the old Pearl Brewery. The lobby is marvel of steampunk goodness wrapped by an old world shell. I couldn’t resist making a few more images.
Unlike this first post from the Hotel Emma Lobby from back in March, shot with a super-wide 9-18mm, I used an all-purpose 12-40mm this time. The portrait orientation changes things up however, emphasizing the tall industrial space.

Looks like a really cool place, Andy! Nice shot!
Thanks Evan. Highly suggested as a photo spot, if you’re even in San Antonio.
What a cool looking place Andy
Someplace to visit, perhaps. If you ever make it down again to Central Texas.
