You don’t see many flowers on this blog — I really don’t shoot them very often. But this colorful item attracted my attention last Sunday. I kind of view it more as a decoration than just a flower. One that I found at a café in the Pearl District in San Antonio.
I mentioned recently that I’m not a coffee drinker and I was left guarding the table as the others got their orders. No problem. I whipped out my Olympus and shot a few. I was going for that bright and slightly overexposed lifestyle look you seen in magazines these days. Even at f2.8 on micro 4/3, I got more of a shallow depth of field effect than I expected. No doubt because I was shooting rather close.
I only post processed this ever so slightly, brightening it somewhat with a touch of added saturation. It’s a simple image but different from my usual, which is a good thing. I’m happy when I expand my horizons. Even when it’s something mundane like this.
