Fractured Reflections, Vox Media at SXSW 2018 – Austin, Texas

During this year’s SXSW conference, I attended several events at Vox Media’s rented and transformed space at The Belmont, a nice bar on West 6th Street. They even covered the façade with hexagon shaped mirrors which added a bit of glitz and sparkle. For me, it was an opportunity to create a somewhat abstract street photograph.

Vox is a publisher with multiple web properties that range from tech gadgets, food, city planning and video games. It’s the perfect kind of outlet that feels at home during the Interactive and Media portions of SXSW. I watched some live podcasts, got a few drinks and shot pictures, of course.

It’s a low-key, peripheral way for me to experience one of Austin’s biggest events, without shelling out the big bucks for conference tickets. I’ll feature more photos from the Vox events, in upcoming posts.
