I met my photographer friend, Chuck, at Jo’s Downtown, before our photowalk. It was one of those hot Austin evenings, nearing record temperatures. We had dinner and talked photography and waited for optimal light. We were also minimizing unneeded exposure to the heat.
A little less than an hour before sunset, we ventured west on 2nd street. Our plan, catch the golden light before sunset and into blue hour. The sunset itself was less important. We were here for the architecture.
I featured Jo’s Downtown from the outside, recently. That was part of a photowalk a week before with Jim. Years ago, when I started photography, I often went on photowalks. No so, recently. But, I want to do more of these, though in small groups. It’s nice to keep in touch with friends and to document the quickly and ever-changing Austin.
