In the heart of Singapore’s Little India, I came upon stores that reminded me of my trip to India. This flower market, with its colorful garlands, echoed the KR Market in Bangalore, just on a very modest scale. Take a look at this Photo Essay from the KR Market, which is one of the largest flower markets in Asia.
The colors and the flowers look the same — the garlands too. But, this small neighborhood store makes this really accessible. The KR Market, on the other hand, was packed, exciting, and slightly overwhelming. Sort of like comparing a high school football game to the Super Bowl. It’s all in the scale.
On the other hand, the sights of Little India reminded me of the wonderful experience I had in Bangalore and Mysore. I used my compact Canon G7X Mark II, getting close with a wide-angle, for an intimate street photograph of a sales transaction.
