Approaching the Arizona Memorial is a bit more dramatic than Approaching the Missouri. The colorful flag-waving is replaced by a somber and contemplative approach by sea.
The Arizona Memorial is by far the most popular attraction at Pearl Harbor. Because of a limited number of boats spaced 15 minutes apart, tickets are harder to get. We opted to pay extra and go as part of a tourist package combining the tour of the USS Missouri followed by the Arizona.
I’m covering this Arizona series in a black and white street photography style. It seemed to fit the experience. I sat on the right side of the boat as we approached. That gave me a strategic photographic point of view.
