My 2021 Hawaii Trip coverage is over, and after a quick stop at the Denver Airport, we are back in Austin. I’ve been shooting a healthy number of photos this year. Enough to have an extensive photographic stay in my hometown for a while. We’ll start with some downtown architecture.
In 2020, during the height of the pandemic. I visited downtown often — alone and socially distanced. As things eased up in 2021, I slacked on my downtown coverage. This year, I vowed to document buildings that were now completed after nearly two years of construction. My most anticipated structure is featured today. You may notice a rather dramatic sail-like building has joined the skyline. Adding a bit of whimsy to a boxy grouping. I really like it. The exterior is nearly complete and enough to stand proudly among the newest westside towers. This will be occupied by Google, which leases another building nearby.
I’m also sporting new camera gear this year. I’ve dropped hits about it previously, but I’ll go into it in-depth in subsequent posts. They have dramatically increased my capabilities, and I’m thrilled with my purchases.
