Marina Bay Sands is a luxury hotel and casino, and its dramatic architecture has become an icon in Singapore. The structure at the top that connects the three towers is a pool and bar with commanding views of the downtown. Unfortunately, I still have yet to take photos that vantage point.
My next goal was to photograph the gardens on the backside. I discovered a slightly confusing path through the adjacent mall, which connects to a walkway that goes through the hotel. I made this photo on that path.
I was looking for a different perspective for this iconic structure. The mall’s glass roof created foreground interest and compliments the sweep of the hotel. Even with my 18mm equivalent super-wide lens, I obviously could not fit the entire building.
