I’m changing things up, moving from the Chinese New Year celebration to an electric car show that I attended in early February. Fully Charged is a popular YouTube channel that covers electric vehicles and sustainable energy. Their first-ever American show was held in Austin.
I brought a couple of cameras with me, including the Fujifilm GFX 50R, which I used to snap this photograph. The depth of field is shallow enough that the Audi grill is in focus while the rest blurs away.
This Audi e-tron is their first all-electric SUV. I love the style of Audis and most German cars for that matter. But, I’m frugal enough that I don’t want to pay for German cars, especially long term. I have Hondas and Toyotas and keep them for 10 to 15 years. While fancy cars are desirable, I rather bank the money and buy more cameras.
However, there’s no denying their style. I especially love this character-filled grill.

I almost went to this event. I wanted to see all my YouTube Tesla folks. I wanted to go Sunday and waited to buy the ticket then and it was sold out! Never occurred to me that an event like that could sell out. Was it crowded? What day did you go? I saw the Nio sportscar was at SXSW last year. Their cars are amazing.
Hi Jerry, I was planning to go on both days but Saturday was sold out and bought just a Sunday ticket.
I heard Saturday morning was crazy busy with long lines. Sunday was a lot better and more organized I guess. But, by Sunday afternoon it wasn’t crowded, probably because it was Super bowl Sunday and people left early.
