DC Comics NFT Launch, SXSW 2012 – Austin, Texas

Have you heard of NFTs? They are part of the bleeding-end of the digital creative community hype. Short for Non-Fungible Token, NFTs allow artists to sell digital rights to their creations. They are built on crypto technology.

I suppose, someday, they may turn into something worthwhile. For now — like any early-stage technology — NFTs are overhyped and will suffer a tremendous crash. Perhaps atmtx can sell NFTs of his most unique photographs. I’m not holding my breath, however.

I mention this because I was there in March for the official launch of the DC Comics hybrid NFT trading cards. Through this doorway, DC staffers were handing out free packages. I got one too. I’ll keep it unopened. Maybe it might be worth something — someday.
