The Top of the Rock has a 365-degree view of Manhattan with outdoor observation decks that wraps around the building. With a centrally located tower in midtown, every direction offers incomparable views. However, looking south is undoubtedly the most dramatic.
I certainly created many urban landscapes from this vantage point. However, I also wanted a candid street photography perspective of my experience, which included other visitors. I went for maximum detail and quality for the “Money View” shooting with the Fujifilm GFX 50S II.
The iconic Empire State Building tantalizes dead center with views to the southern top of Manhattan island. To the left, Brooklyn and New Jersey to the right. The glass wall creates a transparent barrier, safely corralling the spectators.
