I mentioned a few times about the constellation of stands and small shops that seem to congregate around large businesses and major roads. Here’s an example of a small store, which is considerably larger than a stand but may still be run by one person. This one is actually quite close to the industrial park that I was visiting. I shot it towards the end of my one hour photowalk.
I tend to like simple and tasty food, opting for everyday places or even food from the street. Fancy hotels are not my style. But in India, I was extra careful. I didn’t want any digestive problems, especially within the first hours of my visit. It would make for a miserable two-week trip.
It’s a given that you drink bottled water, even for brushing teeth. I’m sure the food at this store would’ve been tasty, but I didn’t even consider it. I’m happy to report that I didn’t catch any unwanted bugs. Though an Imodium pill every few days ensured that I wasn’t too regular. It worked as a good hedge against all the spicy but wonderfully tasty food that I ate.
