I mentioned yesterday about the nightly World of Color show at Disney California Adventure. While people congregated for the big show, I quickly went around the park to take nighttime photos. But I did get back in time to see it.
Now, how to capture the event. I could’ve been up at the railing, making pictures of the colorful water show itself, but that seemed too obvious. I hit upon the idea of using the show as a backdrop and make silhouettes of the spectators. That seemed like a more creative approach.
The execution of the picture is easy enough. Focus on the people but expose for the background color. With an infinitely changing background and variations of how I framed the people, I ended up taking a lot of pictures. This is my favorite, though I had many other worthwhile versions.
