The Millennium Falcon might have successfully fought the empire, but it’s no match for a hoard of tourists. This is the scene at the center of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. If you think the rest of Disneyland is crowded, take a look at this. I was there in December 2019, about 6 months after this themed area opened.
Behind the Falcon is the Smugglers Run, which unfortunately was the only available ride when we visited. The Rise of the Resistance was scheduled to open a month later. We probably waited an hour and a half for the ride since they didn’t take FastPasses. Yes, it’s a long time. But worthwhile since it was one of the top things I wanted to do at Disneyland.
The first two people-free pictures I showed from Galaxy’s Edge were carefully crafted. Today’s picture is the reality. This is what it looked like for a brand new ride during one of the busiest times of the year.
