When you float over the exiting legacy infrastructure packed with cars, trucks, and other distractions, the green walkway that is the High Line looks like an idealized future. While it’s a linear park, it also is a pleasant way to amble through New York without being bombarded with its negative energy. That’s one of its attractions.
On the left is a former remnant of the brick tenement days, surrounded by modern structures. On the right is the much-needed greenery that keeps New Yorkers human.
Straight ahead, we have the futuristic towers of Hudson Yards. The tallest tower features a triangular balcony called the Edge, North America’s highest outdoor observation platform. This is what it looks like from that vantage point.
