The Austinite Market – Austin, Texas

I have one more picture from my night out at the barbecue joint in South Austin. Next to Terry Black’s is this old, character-filled convenience store. We didn’t go inside, just a quick walk-by capture.

I’m guessing the inside is like any other — like a plain old 7-Eleven. However, I love the home-grown, unique design, looking distinctly non-modern and non-corporate. I wonder how old it is?

Located along Barton Springs Road, with the surrounding new development, who knows how long this place will be around. It may serve as documentation of a time gone by when Austin was a small college town.
