After my 6th Street camera test, I followed my usual path — north on Congress Avenue. You might have guessed that I would post the Paramount Theater. One of my favorites from downtown. Especially after they added the bold and glowing Paramount blade out front.
A quick search revealed 10 posts of the Paramount. There may be more. But not properly labeled. Forty percent are black and whites. Not unexpectedly, today’s version is the highest quality at night, using my newest medium format setup. It’s gratifying to see image quality differences even when comparing small web-sized images.
The faint gray outline reveals a new skyscraper behind the theater — nearly finished. This picture from a year ago shows the blue skeleton of progress. I pushed the adapted Canon lens hard to make that shot. Something that I was proud of back then. New technology has now made this an easy-to-make photograph.
