After my unexpected model shoot I headed south towards Wall Street. It was a quick 1/2 mile walk from City Hall Park to the New York Stock Exchange.
As I recall, it was a down day on Wall Street — really bad. Looking it up, the S&P 500 Index was down 3.88% on June 13, 2022. The index closed at 3749. Since then, the market has gyrated up and down a few times, and despite the overall crummy market in 2022, we are still higher now than it was back half a year ago. Everything appeared normal on that June day in New York. Thankfully, no one was jumping out the window.
I was hoping to see a giant U.S. Flag in front of the columns like I often do of this building. I asked, and the security guard informed me that they only do this on special occasions.
